The Law Library in the David Malcolm Justice Centre is located at 28 Barrack Street. Visitors are asked to report to Reception on Level 23.

The Library is a shared resource for the judiciary, government legal officers and members of the legal profession. It is not open to the public.

Members of the legal profession who wish to make regular use of the Library may apply for a Law Library Access Card.

Library catalogue

Online access to the library catalogue is available via the library catalogue webpage.

Charges for Photocopying, Printing, Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loans

Library fees are prescribed by the Legal Profession (Law Library Fees) Rules 2017 and are set out in Part 2.

In order to make a payment, a pre-paid account must first be set up with The Law Library.

Practitioners Legal Electronic Access Service (PLEAS)

Latest news

PLEAS was a subscription service supplied by the Department of Justice which provided access to judgments and related materials in the West Australian jurisdiction.

PLEAS provided access to the following databases:

On the 28 March 2018, these databases moved to the new eCourts Portal of Western Australia. Current PLEAS subscribers, who are registered with the eCourts Portal, will have access to all of the above databases except those in italics. The Family Court declaration applies to Family Court judgments.

There will be a single subscription fee of $220 per annum from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019 for all the decisions listed above. Subscriptions are subject to the Department’s Terms and Conditions.
